Week 4 delivered a clean sweep for our picks, with the Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and Denver Broncos securing decisive victories to keep our entries alive. While the Bills gave us a scare, the Texans and Broncos cruised to comfortable wins, reinforcing the importance of matchup analysis in navigating the Survivor landscape.
As we pivot to Week 5, we’re blending contrarian with a large favorite.
NFL Week 4 Recap
We coasted through Week 4 with three confident wins in our Survivor Pool picks, keeping our streak entries alive.
The Bills, our heaviest favorite, delivered a victory but not without some tense moments. The Saints kept it competitive early, but Buffalo pulled away late to secure a 31-19 win. This shaky performance underscores the risk of even “safe” picks in Survivor Pools.
The Texans dominated the Titans in a 26-0 rout, showcasing their defensive prowess and offensive efficiency. This was the most comfortable win of our Week 4 picks, rewarding those who trusted Houston.
The Broncos capped Week 4 with a commanding 28-3 win over the Bengals on Monday night. Their dominant performance solidified their reliability as a Survivor pick.

NFL Week 5 Survivor Picks
This week, my approach is all about striking a smart balance: dodging the most crowded Survivor picks to gain an edge in multi-entry pools, while still anchoring one selection on a high-confidence favorite. It’s a classic hedge—contrarian enough to differentiate, but reliable enough to keep advancing.
If you haven’t burned the Buffalo Bills yet, there’s a rock-solid case for deploying them now against a vulnerable opponent; their dominance makes them a Week 5 lock worth considering.
Personally, I’m preserving the Indianapolis Colts for a prime Week 8 spot and the Detroit Lions for Week 10, saving those heavy hitters for when the schedule thins out. This sets the stage for my picks: a popular powerhouse on B and C, and a sneaky value play on A to outmaneuver the field.
Arizona Cardinals
Week 5, the Arizona Cardinals stand out as a strong Survivor Pool pick, likely the most popular choice this week, despite offering little future value this season. The biggest concern is their injury situation, particularly at running back with James Conner and Trey Benson sidelined long-term. However, this pick is more about capitalizing on a favorable matchup against the Tennessee Titans, who have been dreadful, scoring a league-low 51 points through four weeks. Arizona’s advantage in this lopsided contest makes them a reliable choice to advance. I’m playing the Cardinals on Picks B and C.
LA Rams
The Los Angeles Rams offer minimal future value beyond a decent Week 9 matchup against New Orleans. The San Francisco 49ers are reeling from injuries, including quarterback Brock Purdy and stars Nick Bosa and George Kittle. If the 49ers were healthy, this would be a pass, but you must seize unforeseen opportunities like this.
Choosing the Rams on Pick A helps dodge the crowd favorites like the Cardinals, Lions, and Colts. The downside is the Rams’ tough schedule post-Week 9, limiting their future utility. I’m playing the Rams on Pick A to capitalize on this matchup and advance.
Week 5 Estimates
- Arizona Cardinals (35%)
- Detroit Lions (20%)
- Indianapolis Colts (15%)
- LA Rams (15%)
- Buffalo Bills (10%)
