Tonight the Toronto Raptors (-2.5, 219.5) host the struggling Portland Trail Blazers. This season I have been picking a side in every Trail Blazers game as apart of my #RipCity Challenge on Twitter. The turbulent season for Portland has led me to a record of 18-18-1, down -1.8 units. Both teams are riddled with injuries. But I have to look at fading Portland against a top 10 team.

Tonight’s report for the Raptors has Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, and Marc Gasol out. Norman Powell is a game-time decision. Portland has a roster of injured players, which has limited their capacity to win games–the long list includes starters Jusuf Nurkic, Zach Collins, and Rodney Hood. CJ McCollum is listed as a game-time decision with an illness. Before the long road trip, the Blazers are currently on, Skal Labisserie went down with an injury that reports suggest is a season-ending injury. Before the season, Skal wasn’t essential to the roster, but he became a significant help to Portland’s bench in the young season.

Now, the team has Anthony Tolliver and Mario Hezonja in the frontcourt off the bench. That’s not going to cut in the NBA. Until a trade happens, it’s wise to fade Portland against teams above .500.

My power rating has the Raptors -4.5 if McCollum plays the game. If CJ is held out of the lineup, my number moves to Raptors -5.
